Needed a commuter, and this thing was at Carmax for cheap! Somehow it slipped through their pricing guide unnoticed. Im not sure how, but at 53,000 miles and it being a special edition made for only 1 year, they had it priced at $9900.

It is a 50th anniversary "Mayfair" edition with a 1 year only color and interior package. Mechanically, its still a standard 172hp 1.6L turbo DOHC 4 cylinder with a 6 speed.

Driving it though.....oh man.....SO MUCH FUN! It reminds me so much of my old E30, its insane. Its not the fastest car in the world, but as small as it is, that 172hp speaks volumes.

You should get back into Auto-X! We all should, really!

What I loved about auto-x in Hawaii, is that it was always at the same venue. Here in Norcal, the races are always in a different place, many times several hours away. That makes it tough to hit all the events and rack up championship points.

I am definitely conjuring up a future deal on a purpose built vehicle, but until it comes closer to reality, I will keep it under wraps.

Interesting... 🧐

The South Bend Region (SBR) had most of our races within 1 hour. However, they have a lot of great venues close by; Tire Rack HQ, Hoosier Tire, AM General, OC Dragway, South Bend Airport, Gingerman Raceway, etc. I think the furthest points event was a 3-region weekend at Grissom Air Force Base, and it was a Sat-Sun event. Only like an hour from South Bend.
